THE POOL OF THE PROPHET (may Allaah pray upon him and greet him).
Assalamo aleikum:
His word: "Îmânunâ Biḥawḍi khayri-r-rusli Ḥatmun" (our belief in the pool of the best of the Messengers is obligatory), means: our confirmation of the pelvis that will be given, on the Last Day, to the best of the Envoys -which is our Prophet Muhammad, may Allah Pray upon him and Salute him-it is obligatory. However, whoever denies it will not be an unbeliever, but a pervert. In this way, the Mouhtazilah have denied it, therefore, the author has referred, to reply, to what has been evoked.
It is a specific, large body, with wide sides, it will be on the changed earth, which is the white earth, like silver, from which whoever drinks will know no more thirst. Only this Community will have access to it.
It has been said that each Prophet will have a pool from which his community will quench their thirst. In a Hadith, Alhassan recounts that: "Each Prophet will have his own pool in front of which he will stand, with a staff in his hand and inviting everyone he will recognize from his community. Certainly, they will boast, who among them has more followers and I hope to have more followers than them"(¹). In another Hadith, his pool, may Allah Pray upon him and Salute him, is larger than all other pools and the one where the largest number of people drink.
On the other hand, the author has privileged the Alberca of our Prophet, evoking it because it has been mentioned in Hadiths that reach the degree of "Tawâtur" - group transmission, contrary to the others qualified as "Ahâd" - transmission of a single person in one person.
His word: "Kamâ Gâ'anâ Fi-n-naqli" (as it has come to us in the transmission), means: according to the text - Hadith - that has been evoked to us, transmitted, according to the Prophet, may Allah pray on him and greeted him, according to which: "The length of my pool is equal to the distance traveled in a month. Its angles are equal. Its water is whiter than milk. Its smell is more perfumed than musk. Its boats are more numerous than the stars in the sky. Whoever will drink from it will never know thirst again").
Its determination in different directions has also been evoked, such as Imam Ahmed's narration according to which the Alberca is of a distance comparable to that between Aden and Aman. That is to say: almost a month. In another authentic narration: "Between Sana â' and La Medina"(2). In other words: almost two months. According to another narration "Between Mecca and Ayla". That is to say: almost a month like the first. And in another narration by Ibn Maja: "Between the Medina and Al Aqsa Mosque as the previous one. (3)
In this way, the Beloved has evoked the Hadith of the Pool on several occasions, evoking, in this regard, these different terms. He addressed each town by the address they knew. However, there is no incompatibility regarding the estimate of the distance of almost a month in some narrations and almost two months in others, because Allah, the Most High, has done him the favor of expanding it, little by little. bit. Therefore it has informed, May Allah Pray upon him and Salute him, over the small distance first, then over the great distance.
It rests on what shows the greatest distance, as An-Nawawi stressed.
In this way, among what Allah, the Most High Has Revealed to Jesus, may prayers and greetings be with him, as a quality of our Prophet, may Allah Pray upon him and Salute him, this: "He has a Pool further than the distance from Mecca to sunrise. It contains boats comparable to the number of the stars in the sky. It has the color of every drink of Paradise and the taste of all its fruits."
His word in this narrative: "comparable to the number of the stars in heaven" is not inconsistent with his word in the previous narrative: "More numerous than the stars in heaven❞ because he may have first reported that they were comparable before claiming they are." However, the fact that it had the color of every drink in Paradise means that one of its parts is red, another white, and so on... It should not be thought that there is a set of opposites in it, what which is impossible. And the fact that it tasted all its fruits means that it tastes like peaches, bananas, apricots, etc. Whoever tried them would taste the fruits of Paradise.
There was, however, a disagreement regarding its place: so it has been said: before "Şirât" (the Bridge over Hell) as advocated by the majority -of the sages- and some have authenticated it, since the people will leave from their thirsty graves, then they will go to the pool to quench their thirst in it. It has been said also: after "Şirât" (Bridge) and this has been rectified by someone, because the water of the Kawthar comes out of it. It is the river that is inside Paradise. Therefore, the Pool must be after the "Şirât" (Bridge) and next to Paradise, because if before the "Şirât" the fire will interpose itself between the water and this one that comes out of the Kawthar. But, it has been said in this regard that the Pool, if it were found near Paradise, would not it would be necessary to drink, I will answer that the people will be contained there, due to the injustices committed among them, until they are freed. It is what is called the Talion Station. It has been said: The Messenger, may Allah Pray upon him and Salute him, has two Pools: one before "Şirât" and one after it, which has been rectified by Alqortobi. However, one should not believe in all this, but one should believe that the Prophet, may Allah Praise upon him and Salute him, has a Pool and it does not matter if it is before or after the "Şirât" (Bridge).
